What Take a Brava Leap Means

For female expats, taking a Brava Leap is a decision shaped by working in unfamiliar cultures and constantly adjusting to fit in.

I know this because I have lived it. I have worked in global environments where I was capable and delivering results, yet still felt the need to soften my voice or explain myself more than necessary to be taken seriously. I saw how easily difference can be misunderstood and how often strong leadership is overlooked when it does not match expectations.

Over time, it became clear that the problem was not confidence or skill. The real challenge was navigating unspoken power dynamics, cultural rules that are never explained.

Take a Brava Leap means stepping out of that pattern. It means stopping the habit of shrinking to fit and leading with clarity and presence, even when your background, accent, or leadership style stands out. It is the shift from proving yourself to leading with intention and shaping decisions, conversations, and influence.

This exists because too many female expats carry responsibility, deliver results, and are still underestimated.

In simple terms, Take a Brava Leap means moving from asking “How do I belong here?” to deciding “How do I lead here?”
